So it looks like I won’t be going for a bike ride today…
Montreal just got hit with ten thousand tons of snow! Well, not exactly ten thousand. Could be more or less, really. But regardless, it’s time to get on your gators, throw on a parka, double your socks and make sure you don’t leave home without your long-johns ’cause it’s a BLIZZARD out there!
Anyways, this is the PERFECT weather for making music. The snow, being a natural insulator, has a tendency to quiet everything down. The regular city noises get sucked up into the mounds of powder scattered around the city. It’s no wonder that some amazing music is made in studios that are located WAY up in the mountains or out in the country side.
So, I think get the mics out today and try to capture some of this atmosphere. It’s good to have some quiet moments after a busy (and noisy) summer season. Even though it might be cold and wet outside, I say “let it snow”…
Stay warm! :)
