Updates on some sound executions during the month of august…

Didn’t get the chance to post this one in time, but this past Thurday evening had me opening for Mark Berube & The Patriotic Few at L’Inspecteur Épingle in Montreal. Just out of the studio, Mark & the Few are ready to release their latest album What the Boat Gave the River (a companion disk to the 2007 release What the River Gave the Boat) produced by Dave Sturton (Dave Martel) at Studio DNA. The album launch takes place September 25 at Cabaret Juste Pour Rire. For more info check out the following links…

Next week, I’ll be back in Toronto at the Free Times Cafe playing along with Erik Virtanen (The Darling DeMaes). The DeMaes have also recently finished producing their first full-length album along with Joseph Donovan (Sam Roberts, The Dears) and Adrian Popovich (Tricky Woo) at Mountain City Studio. Erik will be in Toronto mastering the album with Noah Mintz (Broken Social Scene, Hayden, Miracle Fortress, The Rheostatics, etc) and we’ll probably play a few songs together from the Pale Ramone project we put together recently with Tasha Cyr, who launched the debut album with her band Belleisle (Ships at Night Records) earlier this month.

Oh, and look for us on the Wednesday night prior to the show playing in a park somewhere in Toronto with guitarist Ryan Browne. There will be salad and beverages served for those people who can figure out exactly which park we’ll be wandering around in and our whereabouts. I’m totally serious about this… shoot me a message if you’re curious.

The last show I am playing this month will be an intimate, unplugged set at Le Zigoto Cafe in Montreal with singer/songwriter Charlotte Cornfield. Charlotte is a Toronto native, currently studying music at Concordia University. She has already released one EP, It’s Like That Here, produced in Toronto by Ryan Granville Martin. Songs from the EP have been airing nationally on CBC since its release and it is available in Montreal at Cheap Thrills & Atom Heart, and in Toronto at Rotate This, Criminal Records and Soundscapes. Also available on iTunes! Check out some samples here:
